The Q'ero people are the direct descendants of the Incas, who preserved their ancient prophecies and traditions in isolation for over 500 years. Living high in the Andes mountains, they served as Paq'os - mystics, healers and visionaries who kept the ancient spiritual ways alive. According to Q'ero elders, the time prophesied in Inca legend is upon us - the Pachacuti is coming soon, which will usher in a new era they call the Taripay Pacha. The Q'ero view this as a time when humankind can evolve in an era of light following the 500 years of darkness. Their prophecy carries themes of spiritual transformation and ascension similar to ideas emerging in New Age movements globally.
