The flow of energies generated by the human experience on Earth happens via the element water (emotions). All water on the planet is connected. Therefore, the seas and oceans collect all human emotions and experiences from all water ways of the land. The waters follow gravity and create streams, rivers and underground water systems that find their way into the oceans. All human generated energies, our life experience, our social interaction, our acts of love and of war, our creativity and our frustrations, all physical, mental and emotional energies end up in the ocean. Water that comes from the mountain tops, the lakes, down the valleys, through all coastal geography around the world find its way into the ocean. The ocean then collects it all.

This inevitable journey of the world’s waters involves touching every single life expression on Earth, every single teardrop is collected, every rain drop, every fluid that rushed through the roots of trees and bushes, the water that went up the tree trunk and ended up as watery flesh of fruits and vegetables that humans ate. We are what we eat and drink, we absorb the nutrients of our food and transform it into actions as well as thoughts, ideas and concepts.

Our teacher trees of Olifantsnek show us that the water that touched their roots was the same water that interacted with Black and White people of this land. Over the years when we visited them during our Sacred Andean Tradition ceremonies, they always taught us something about South African society. This time, their natural transformation is amazingly drastic. The water level of the dam is much higher. The main black and white Stinkwood tree trunks have finally collapsed into the water, but their roots are still tightly together, new young shoots are growing tall, full of bright green leaves. They look one and the same. There is a drastic transformation taking place. There is evidence that the old came to an end and gave way to a new generation. Likewise, the new generation of Black and White South Africans is completely integrated, there is no separation. They are the expression of peaceful coexistence.

The old concept of apartheid belongs in the dark shadows of our mistaken past. The apparent philosophical reasons for a separate life of Black and White South Africa are no more, and they will never be revisited in the future. The teacher trees are showing us a time of renewal, unity and harmony for South Africa.
